No one there to hear
After a ten day vacation that wasn't a vacation because all I was doing was complicated and difficult remodeling work on our very small house, I returned to work.
Yes, ten days working, and I returned at work at the library.
"Hi." I said.
"Hi" People said. "You're back."
"Yes." I said.
Then I caught up on all the happenings at the library over the past week and a half.
"What happened while I was gone?" I asked.
"Nothing." People replied.
And I was all caught up.
But of course plenty happened while I was gone.
It was ten solid days of trees falling in a forest. Only, I wasn't there to report them.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
I'm thinking some books were checked out.
