Dear Clerkmanifesto:
Recently, while perusing one of your blogposts, I came across a reference to "weird birds". You also suggested that you had obtained some photographs of these "weird birds".
I would like to see a photograph of one of these "weird birds".
I am a weird bird aficionado.
I am all about WEIRD BIRDS!
Thanks,
A reader
Dear Reader:
Oh, sure. Let me just take a look in my "pictures of birds" folder.
Is this it?
Dear Clerkmanifesto:
No. I don't think it could be this. I think that's just a woodpecker. I mean it's nice, a very thoughtful looking bird, but it's not weird.
Are you sure that's the one you meant?

Dear Reader:
Oh. Let me see.
Weird, weird, weird, weird, weird, weird...
Ah, here it is. This must be it!
Dear Clerkmanifesto:
Whoa.
Yes.
That's it.
That is one weird bird!
Thank you.

Dear Reader:
You're welcome.
It turns out it's a chicken!
Dear Clerkmanifesto:
No way!
Dear Reader:
I know.
Dear Clerkmanifesto:
Crazy!
Dear Reader:
And fluffy.
Dear Clerkmanifesto:
Crazy and fluffy!

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
