My First Contest!

Hi, it's me, your blogger, and I'm piping up here to say that there is a little contest now live with a post maybe one or two below this one, depending on when I post this, it's the one about comparing something in my blog to Flowers For Algernon. It has to do with how it has all kinds of clickable links in the text. You can just read the post below too, the contest kind of lurks in the background, and so is more accidental or extra. It's not a puzzle exactly, just a sort of reward for thoroughness.

And with that I leave you the lyrics to this song, which doesn't have much to do with the contest, only with my quest to become the greatest library blog ever. I saw this musical at the Pantages theater I think, in Los Angeles somewhere rather a long time ago. It was actually only an okay production, I liked the book better. Still...

The Impossible Dream from the Musical "Man of La Mancha"
Lyrics by Joe Darion

To dream ... the impossible dream ...
To fight ... the unbeatable foe ...
To bear ... with unbearable sorrow ...
To run ... where the brave dare not go ...
To right ... the unrightable wrong ...
To love ... pure and chaste from afar ...
To try ... when your arms are too weary ...
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

This is my quest, to follow that star ...
No matter how hopeless, no matter how far ...
To fight for the right, without question or pause ...
To be willing to march into Hell, for a Heavenly cause ...

And I know if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest,
That my heart will lie will lie peaceful and calm,
when I'm laid to my rest ...
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with scars,
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To reach ... the unreachable star ...

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
