Cats win again

Despite my strong preferences I admit that dogs and cats have at least one thing in common. Like humans, or any other predator, they have an unpleasant touch of the bully about them. Within that, though, there lies a difference that makes me love one and not the other.

Dogs, when they sense someone's fear, lose respect for them, and seek to increase it and dominate through it. Cats, when they sense someone's fear, respect them more for their obvious good sense, and leave it be.

  1. I object. Cats are the evil keepers of the underworld. Everyone knows they have a pact with the grim reaper. You die in your home, the cat eats your face. A little reward for keeping an eye on stupid, non-suspecting, humans.

    1. At first your comment seems hostile to cats. But then it seems to become oddly sympathetic with their point of view. Are you sure you object?

  2. I'm not going to be so inhospitable on my own blog to agree that all cat haters are Republicans, maybe yes, maybe no. I merely want to point out that we all have a pact with the Grim Reaper. Alas.

  3. When they try to get past those kitties guarding the gates to the afterlife they might appeal to Sehkmet but she will not know them. They will thus be flitting shades in Oblivion. (This is why i always carry kitty treats! ^_^)

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
