The impossible season

As we know I have been struggling to quintessentially photograph Autumn.

The results have been mixed. I have no ur-Autumn photographs. Nothing has captured the spirit of the season. Not leaf pictures, not squirrel with nut pictures, not stream through the leaves pictures, not colorful tree pictures, not even pictures of pumpkins!

So I gave up.

And once I gave up it suddenly occurred to me: it's not like I was out taking pictures of Summer, or Spring. Don't you think it's a little unfair to have to take a portrait of Fall?

Fall cannot be captured by mortal devices!

So today I went out and just took pictures, and that seemed to work out okay, because I like taking pictures.

Here's some.

You can pretend it's whatever time of year you want:

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
