Favorite color

I guess the question I am most frequently asked is "What is your favorite color?"

To which I reply "Oh, I like all of them. They're all so nice."

"Even gray?" They say.

"Yes. I like gray a lot too." I say. "Though is it really a color?"

"I think so." They say.

"Well, either way I like it." I say.

"You don't like one color better than the others by just a little though?" They ask all the time. Usually four or five times a day.

"Sometimes yes, on an individual temporary basis, but as an overall thing it is a three million way tie for favorite color."

"There are three millions colors?" They ask.

"I don't know for sure. Let's look it up on the Internet." I suggest.

So we type in: "How many colors are there?"

And the Internet says "Three million".

"Where, where on the Internet does it say that?" They want to know.

"Right here." I say, pointing.

"Oh." They say. "Is that me?" They ask, pointing to this line.

"Yes it is." I say.

"Wow. I'm on the Internet then?"

"Yes you are. It is not hard to get on the Internet. The hard part is to get anyone to see you there." I say.

"Oh, don't be like that." They say.

"I was going to make a joke at the end about "read"." I said. "But it got messed up because "read" and "read" are spelled the same but pronounced differently, and "read" and "red" are pronounced the same but spelled differently."

"So how will you end this?" They ask.

"My favorite color is iridescent." I reply.

"Like raku?" They ask.

"And turkeys." I add.

Post a Comment

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
