Inappropriate humor

Under this Pandemic the standards at my library are falling. We are, of course, still closed to the public, but we do run an occasionally frantic, labor intensive curbside pick-up. But since we don't see the public much we now all come to the library in our pajamas and velour track suits. We also talk increasingly about drinking at the library and how nice that might be. Why not? It couldn't be any worse for us than what we currently do every chance we get; complain bitterly about the management.

We have also slowly begun to take back returns and so shelving has returned into our lives. I'm doing it now! Well, not "doing it" exactly, but you know what I mean.

What do I mean?

I mean writing blog posts in the stacks.

Sometimes I'd prefer not to have to spell these things out.

Aw, who am I kidding, I love to spell these things out.

Nevertheless I was shelving earlier. I was all alone in the "F's" of the Fiction section. I peered through the stacks cautiously, and then up and down the aisles just to make sure.

Then I farted.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
