Today's title is "How to look at a painting". You can see the title right up there ꜛꜛꜛꜛ.
And the answer is "Probably not like this".
We are on painting number three from my Genoa pictures. My first picture was decent. The second one went a bit off the rails, so I took a sabbatical to draw flowers in order to reorient my whole approach to the project.
It was succesful!
Which is good, because picture three from Genoa was of a portrait by Durer, and the original was so good it was sick. The original painting that is. My photo of it was a bit over reflected. Still, it was better that I would have some idea of what I was doing when I went scribbling around and over Albrecht Durer.
Anyway, here's today's interpretation of a photograph from a palace in Genoa.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
