View at the mouth of the Paillon River

Here is the first fully completed drawing, or painting, I have made with my drawing pad. The Paillon River runs under a long park here through most of the city, but once was the butt of jokes for being such a dry river. Right now in the aftermath of late Winter Rains and maybe some snow run off it is going pretty good into the sea, which is where this view is from, looking up into the mysterious undercity river. The mouth here keeps shifting around both naturally and as a result of the city curiously stirring the famous stone beaches around with bulldozers and suchlike. This evening we were down at the Paillon again, and it is already configured differently than in this view from a week ago.

  1. What a lovely painting! I love the blues and the stones, o and the greens also. Such depth.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
