I used to write a really proper, pointed essay-like post nearly every day. Serious stuff like, I don't know, this one from 2019:
On Tuesday nights I work the front desk with a Buddhist co-worker. Sometimes reincarnation, monks, and light Buddhist themes come up in discussion. This Tuesday she came across a copy of The Four Noble Truths: A Guide to Everyday Life, and she was pretty interested in it. So she showed it to me. I looked. I'd seen the book already.
So I handed it back and said:
"In my past life I was a Buddhist. In this life it's my only one."
Wait, that's it?
Hmmm. That doesn't seem so hard. But I've always got so many pictures to get posted here. So writing a proper three paragraph essay like that is often out of the question. I just write some introductory comments and before I know it,
BAM
The whole thing is way longer than my proper essay might have been.
I am not paid by the word!
I AM NOT PAID BY THE WORD!
Actually, I'm pretty sure I do this for fun.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
