A personal exploration of a famous person's birthday

Today is a very famous person's birthday!

Yep, Teddy Roosevelt.

I just thought it might be worth noting, I mean, in case anyone wanted to, uh, wish him, and only him, "Happy Birthday".

"Well that's odd" you comment instead of wishing Teddy Roosevelt a happy birthday, "You don't usually mention birthdays around here."

No. That's where I have to stop you. I just mentioned my friend Grape's birthday four days ago, so it could be said I mention birthdays every four days! And if I don't mention Teddy Roosevelt's birthday now, I have to wait 365 more days!

I'm not upset.

Just so you know.

I appreciate the give and take.

"Okay," You say. "I'll bite then. What's so great about Teddy Roosevelt that we have to celebrate his birthday?"

I mean, nothing in particular really. It's also Dylan Thomas's birthday.

Just, you know, in case you were interested.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
