I spent my birthday in lush gardens surrounding a lovely ocean view villa built and lived in by a Rothschild a hundred years ago.
Pfft. Rich people.
I suppose this wasn't the worst sort of rich person, since she had the taste and desire to make some of the most graceful, well assembled and well maintained gardens I have yet seen and also had the decency to leave it to be viewed and visited by the public.
I'm part of the public!
And what could be more modern than wandering around in the lovely leavings of the super rich?
But most of the twenty million euro estates around here, and there are plenty, one can't visit at all.
So I'll stick to picking on them for now.
I'll bet they're shaking in their boots!

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
