An old library co-worker of mine came in. I worked with her for just a year or two, and she has been gone from our library system now for about eight years, which is how long it has been since I last saw her.
And the beautiful thing is: I can say anything I want about her because she doesn't read clerkmanifesto.
She doesn't read clerkmanifesto!
Now I know what you're thinking:
"What a terrible person she must be!"
You said it, not me.
And I think a lot of you. So I will tell you one tiny anecdote from this old colleague's visit.
Some small catching up was going on with me, a current co-worker, and this old co-worker. The current co-worker decided to show some of our staff pictures, I like to think as a source of pride, you know, the ones I made of my co-workers with the spirit animals. And the old co-worker, briefly glancing at a few of them, instead of exclaiming in wonder, said:
"Well, that's suspect."
So I'm just saying all your instincts were correct.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.
I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!
One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
