Down by the river

On my most recent walk I decided not to get in our car, but rather to just venture off on foot to my local river and creek paths, those which I hadn't been by to see for awhile. It was like visiting an old friend. "Hello tree. Good to see you again. You look redder!" Yes, autumn had begun its triumphant arrival in my absence, but that didn't mean I couldn't spice up my pictures with even a bit more color, if you know what I mean.

The days have been perfect here, faultlessly so, which, alas, put an awful lot of people out on these trails, including, I think, an entire large geology class from one of the local Universities.

I did find a dead bird though by the falls. It looked as if some animal had killed it and eaten only its heart.

I had that curious scene all to myself.

If you were wondering, yes, you should comment. Not only does it remind me that I must write in intelligible English because someone is actually reading what I write, but it is also a pleasure for me since I am interested in anything you have to say.

I respond to pretty much every comment. It's like a free personalized blog post!

One last detail: If you are commenting on a post more than two weeks old I have to go in and approve it. It's sort of a spam protection device. Also, rarely, a comment will go to spam on its own. Give either of those a day or two and your comment will show up on the blog.
